Appearance: Zoroff is a changeling, and as such, his appearance is subject to change. He is pretending to be human, and never reveals his true face. The human form he is currently using has black hair, a beard that comes to two points at the side of the chin, and wears a red bandana, leather boots, and loose cotton clothing with two swords at his side. He always seems to be looking at something. He stands about 5'8".
Personality: Zoroff is, like most changelings, one of those people who simply blends into the background. Nothing about his behavior sets him apart from other people, and he rarely offers his opinion. He usually isn't even paying attention. He spends most of his time day dreaming of the day he becomes a pirate captain, and sails the seas, capturing ships, finding treasure, and facing the dangers of the depths.
Background: Zoroff is a man (used loosely, since he can alter his body to any gender) in a particularly tough situation. He is a changeling. He does not know what a changeling is. Zoroff only knows he can change his body, he has no idea why. He has looked at his physical appearance, but is smart enough to figure out it is unlikely he will ever find someone who looks like him, because they are probably in disguise as well.
Ever since he was a child, he grew up alone, on the streets. But like most changelings do, he gathered a following. Other little urchin children banded together, forming a makeshift thieves guild of pick-pockets and beggars. As a large, half orc teenager, it was easy for the rather clever Zoroff to bully the others into obeying his every command. He ran this organization for years, gathering several hundred gold with an army of nearly forty children.
A problem came when someone else moved in on his territory. One day, a little tiefling girl was caught picking pockets on his docks. Playing the good sumaritan, he asked an elderly woman to carry a bag of coppers for them across the wharf so they could "catch the bad kid!" The tiefling took the bait, hook line and suckered, and Zoroff and his gang was prepared. They caught her, and dragged her back to their hide out. The others wanted to beat her, but Zoroff calmed them down with the gravest threat of all. He was going to take her into his room and deal with her personally. A few years back, a few of the kids thought they were sly, and tried to steal money from the gang. They were taken into Zoroff's room too. All knew it was not something people ever wanted to experience twice.
But no harm came to the tiefling girl. Instead, Zoroff was mesmerized. She looked LIKE a human, but so much different. She had horns, and a tail, and a strange smell. He had never seen anyone else so different from everyone else. Watching her, Zoroff grew horns, a tail, and sharp teeth right in front of her. Then, she too, was amazed.
Zoroff and Daena would spend a few more years together, running the den of thieves, before fleeing to Dragonport with their spoils after they were ratted out. There, they would start life anew, and Zoroff could accomplish his life's goal. To be a pirate.
((Zoroff has Rich Parents despite not having parents. This money is actually his own personal childhood stash that he gathered together before fleeing the city.))
