Player: Ichai
Race: Shadowtouched Desert Kobold
Class: Druid 1
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Appearance: Thruknuk is an elderly kobold; however, thanks to his draconic heritage, he still retains his youthful physique. His scales are a dark gray, faintly tinged with blue at the edges. Scattered across his back and neck are scales of a deep black that glisten in contrast to the muted dusk of the rest of his flesh. His eyes are the same obsidian black, set in an inscrutable reptilian face. He disdains clothing, only donning a loincloth as a concession to the civilized races he finds himself amongst.
Personality: He is a mild-mannered example of the kobold race, not given to excitement or agitation. His many years as a hermit have compounded this tendency to retreat into the background, only putting himself forward as he sees need. Fundamentally, he views life as a 'live and let live' situation.
Background: Thruknuk was hatched to a tribe of kobolds in a desert to the west of the Black Marches. He was raised to lead his tribe as a shaman, eventually inheriting the mantle from his mentor. After many years of being the religious head of his people, he stepped down and handed the role to his eldest hatchling. Immediately after the ceremony, Thruknuk said farewell and set out into the wasteland.
He wandered for several years, gradually turning north. He had few brushes with other beings during this time, and avoided confrontation as much as possible. After a length of time he never bothered to count, he found himself cresting the Great Gnarl mountains. It was there that he made the most important discovery of his life.
While sheltering from a thunderstorm in a cave, he discovered a tunnel that lead deep into the mountain. Following it, it eventually opened onto an abyssal cavern. Upon entering, he was snatched up by sharp claws, and swept into the air. As he shrieked in terror, the creature carrying him hurtled around rock formations and stalactites, eventually touching down lightly in a narrow hole high on the wall. There, Thruknuk got a look at the being that had captured him, an ancient Shadow Dragon.
Thruknuk will not speak of what transpired in the cavern, but he emerged several days later and immediately headed straight for Bywater.
