The Third Daisho (Legacy +1 Chakram)

First, the base item:

As with most weapons of Legacy, this chakram begins its life as a +1 weapon, and requires rituals in order to unlock its other latent abilities (other than the omen).

The third Daisho
'The third Daisho', stolen by a distant ancestor involved in the assassination of an emperor, who later became a general in an opposing army of Rokugan. This weapon held ceremonial value to the Hatamari family, though it never really contained the inherent power of Massua and Hibiki. After Genma Hatamari took hold of it, however, it began to become a larger part of world events, and when this unremarkable chakram tasted the blood of an emperor, it began gaining its own abilities.

Genma Hatamari first replaced the heirloom chakram with an exact replica, then used the real one to kill an emporer. He did this in order to frame the Hatamari family, stripping their honor, and preventing them from being able to properly participate in the upcoming war.

Omen

  • Mental: The Chakram whenever touched, releases into the mind of the one who touches it the sound of continual whispering, unable to be made out.

This Legacy item has a split Legacy, that of the Assassin that Genma was, and that of the honorable clan who forged it.

Assassin

  • Least Ritual: One must have a replica made in exacting detail costing 2500 gold, and then donate it to one's ancestors (representing Genma Hatamari's replacement of the original with a replica)
  • Lesser Ritual: One must donate 12500 gold to an army, noble, etc. in opposition to your target, then assassinate a well-known noble.
  • Greater Ritual: One must denounce their family heritage, and pay 40,500 gold as a bribe to erase virtually all record of your ties with them.

Honor

  • Least Ritual: One must have a replica made in exacting detail costing 2500 gold, and then donate it to one's ancestors (representing the original forging of the third Daisho)
  • Lesser Ritual: One must swear fealty to one they view worthy. If they ever intentionally oppose the will of their liege, lesser abilities cannot be used until they have restored their honor. They must also pay 12500 gold in homage to their ancestors.
  • Greater Ritual: One must undergo a great quest or battle in the name of their liege (DM discretion as to what constitutes 'great') and donate at least 40500 of the spoils to the one to whom they are honor-bound.
