The Crew

HISTORY

When the pirate lords took control of Dragonport, they set up a government body known as the Crew to emulate the organization of a seagoing vessel. The Crew has become a legitimate form of government , but its members still like to keep up the veneer that they are violent outlaws that will dispose of anyone who opposes them.

ORGANIZATION

The official ruling body of Dragonport is known as the Crew which holds 21 members. The Highest ranking member is known as the Mate who calls to order and directs The Crew's meetings and serves as a tiebreaker in votes and discussions.

The crew elect from their own choice a city mayor to run the day to day operations of the city. The term for mayor is one year.

ELECTIONS

Every 2 years a vote is taken among the populace. It costs 1 gp per vote, the 21 citizens with the most votes is placed on the Crew, the one with the most votes is elected the Mate.

The next Election will take place in roughly real-world terms of July 2012.
