Player: Kajhera
Race: Kobold
Class: Shaper 1 / Cloistered Cleric 1
Alignment: True Neutral

Appearance:
Mekoti is of average height for one of the little dragon servants, scales a rusty-edged black and red eyes that glow like a cat's in the slightest light. She has a wide-hipped, healthy but graceful build, talons of her hands seeming particularly delicate and dexterous.

She wears a pair of goggles fastened with a strip of leather, dark-lensed and rimmed with rune-engraved brass over her red eyes. A hooded charcoal cloak obscures her race to the casual glance, though not so often on the double take. Under it she wears armor of supple leather, metal rings rendering the tunic more protective, studs on the collar and parts covering her limbs. She carries a light crossbow of excellent worksmanship with a similar quality short bayonet attached. A brass bracelet on her right wrist holds her spherical carnelian psicrystal in a clasp of four glass sections, easily opened from the inside but not the outside.

Personality:
She is mercenary in attitude, curious in disposition, inventive in creation, and inclined to seek out thrills but oft a bit cowardly in the face of danger. She views dragons as the highest beings, scaled ones as their worthy servants, and other beings as foreign factions, an often typical view for a kobold or lizardfolk. She has expertise as a medicine kobold, and with a fair stock of herbal remedies only a minute's distance from her, is fairly generous with it; employing that knowledge to afflict her foes often lends her an unexpected edge in combat.

Background:
Mekoti's original clan worked as servants to an obsidian dragon named Vakethe. The dragon's machinations towards restoring her mistress Seradess drew a task force of Sardior down on their heads; causing great strife and trouble for the kobold clan. Vakethe instructed the kobold tribe to form all her treasure into a splendid armor and array of magic to allow her to fight off the intruders: and they obliged, working rapidly to make their mistress's will be done. When they finished, she fled the compromised lair with her now-portable treasure, leaving the kobold clan behind to be captured or killed and try to come to terms with their abandonment. They continued to fight the groups Sardior sent, seeking not to give the impression anything had gone awry at all.

Mekoti was deeply hurt by the dragon's abandonment, and saw the rest of her clan dying to cover the escape of a leader who cared about them not a bit. She snuck down to the camp of Sardior's task force, quickly indicating she came peacefully, and begged them to cease their attack - telling them that the dragon had long fled and there was no need to take out the protecting clan. She had to lead through a secret way to the empty lair, but they believed her after divining the remaining junk, and much to her relief agreed to withdraw.

Her clan however did not take her actions well, and for attempting to help them rather than the dragon they were bound to serve they ostracized her. Kobolds being of a communal nature it was a worse insult than death, and led her to nurture a bitterness, individualism and independence in her heart. In a short time she fled to the Sardioran group, shaken and looking for anyone willing to accept her.

She found particularly sympathetic ears in those who formerly belonged to the sect of Seradess, but returned to the main church when the obsidian dragon was destroyed and banished to nonexistence (rather than remaining with the traitorous group). In time she found herself accepted by the small group seeking to fill the creative void Seradess left at her departure, held at arm's length by the general church due to the possibility of traitors in their midst, and hated by obsidian dragons and the remaining sect as definitely treacherous. They taught her how to live for herself rather than others, and not be worried by their disapproval, but work to meet her own standards and achieve what she felt important.
