Well, have at it. Better than spamming several sections of the forum that have nothing to do with how much you hate me.
When you have something bad to say, just toss it right here.
Don't Mistake fixing bad game mechanics for an attack on your character please. I'm fine with Syrius as a character for Bill and Duralan's games. From a player perspective I have no problems with him.
I'll resurrect the artificer thread if it would make you feel better as I still don't want them around (I'm playing one even, if in an "NPC" capacity).
Anyway, we have different opinions on balance and I know from the DM's chair that Syrius is broken on so many levels.
To expand, if I run 4 Bors at the party, the party may survive. If I run 4 Syrius' at the party, they will die.
I had no problem with the final draft of most of the feats that you submitted mechanically.
The problem for me was that a PRC already exists for what you wanted, which was a glorified E6 character that without GM coins isn't attainable on E20.
And that you kinda snubbed Bill's input because you preemptively thought you had gotten 2 approvals.
Bill is out to destroy E6, needlessly. Our E6 is practically E8 without the 4th level spells. I'm used to that system and it's pretty damn fun imho. You get a ton of feats just for flavor because you can afford to. That is something that BM lacks imho.
Imagine if everybody had a custom legacy weapon or just one from the book?
Imagine if everybody had some soul melds?
Even Early entry shadowcraft mage Syrius would be perfectly suited to the system imho. 4th level spells being the issue, not the shadow crafting.
Bor suffers from Wall-itis. Walls slow him down some as you saw last night.
My only concern with Syrius and other college member PCs is that made Quinn Unable to take Nemesis. Read the feat and understand that you just instantly know who's in the college with it if they are in 60' of you.
If anybody really wanted to, they could pull a "you're a vampire" on Syrius, like Quinn did to Garun. That was not fun for me to play but necessary as she didn't like undead.
But Syrius isn't a vampire.. Also.. Syrius has expressed his concerns about being in the college to those he trust with the information and why he's doing it. If anyone wants to take Nemesis and point me out for the world, they'd better be better at diplomacy than I am at bluffing. :3
No one's keeping you from taking that feat. You simply don't want to. It also doesn't make the Feat Unuseable, as it certainly does what it's supposed to. You just have to be willing to RP it and respond accordingly.
I know he's not a vampire, but it leads to a similar scenario.
You misunderstand the importance of knowing you are in the college and your exact location within 60'. That means instant death for you if the player bothers to prepare.
It's why I didn't take a feat I wanted to take.
I don't know why you would care.
When it comes down to it, it is a risk I take by playing double agent to be seen as the enemy.
It is the IC consequence.
Let me get this strait though. You're blaming other people for you limiting your own choices. You then pretend that we're all problems because you established for yourself these restrictions. If it makes you feel better to let us know that you're going to take it, then.. thanks? But at the same time, It's just misplaced just self pity to blame it on us.
If you what to take the feat, that's fine. If you want to be the one to start slaying other people's PCs, then I guess that's all there is to it. We can't all be one big happy family all the time. It was bound to happen eventually, as not everyone's PCs end up on the same team for their own reasons. But at the very least, don't let PLOT get in the way of you building your character. You can certainly choose to ignore the PLOT and attack outright or plan other PC's murder, though it seems kind of silly if you're aware of everything they've done thus far to aid your own survival in the process. Some people are just paranoid and homicidal.
