Okay, so here's my situation: two of my characters (Roc and Kilroy) are both interested in defeating the College of Necromancy, and are both members of The Silver Cranes, although neither of them were planned that way from the beginning. Roc is semi-retired, while Kilroy is active. Also, they have met once during Gathering Allies, although Kilroy was completely silent for the whole scene.
Because I'm aware that no player is allowed to interact or collaborate with their own characters, I'm concerned that my access to two PCs in their respective positions could get out of hand. As such, I was wondering if the Council could talk about this so that I don't accidentally step on anyone's toes.
Some other things:
- Since Kilroy is currently active, and I have more material on Roc's personality in my head than I can reasonably tell the DMs, I am not comfortable with either of them becoming an NPC.
- Both characters are combatants by nature, so depending on some PCs' actions or where a game's plot goes, the presence of both characters in the same battle may become unavoidable. Of course, that could only reasonably happen if the PCs went to or tried to contact Roc, but they shouldn't have to avoid doing that if they decide that's the best course of action (and remember, Roc was remembered by the party as helpful when they met him). Still, having an advance plan of what to do in such a situation would help (take into account that both of them have access to healing).
- While I would prefer not to do so if the College is involved in a game, I can simply abstain from playing Kilroy if the DM or the party knows before the game starts that Roc will be involved somehow.
- Just like in Gathering Allies, they will not directly talk to each other if that can be avoided.
I especially would like Bill's input on this, because if this becomes a problem at all, it would most likely do so during his games.
