UPDATE: THE POLL IS UP
On November 9th 2011, I will set up a forum post for everyone to make votes for the 3 people they believe are best suited to decide on the rules and direction of Black Marches. This means that anything and everything from the Setting to character creation to allowed content, etc. is within their purview to decide. They can also revoke previously allowed things from Allowed Extras and so forth or vote to allow things previously denied.
Possible Questions:
PQ1: Why are we moving towards a Council Deciding rather than just Bill Bisco?
PA1: The reason for this is simply that Black Marches was never intended to be administered / DMed / etc. under one person. As a longterm campaign setting, it's impractical to have just one person call all the shots because that means the system breaks down if that person ever goes awol or is away for even a medium period of time. As a Multi-DM campaign setting it's not fair for one DM to call all the shots for the rules of the sessions of other DMs without they having some input. Some Democracy is important for longterm health, vitality, and most of all Fun!
PQ2: Why did you wait a month to hold the vote and not hold it sooner?
PA2: Quite simply because while it's important to have a form of democracy for the shared campaign, it's equally important that people are team players, that is to say that merely because they don't get their way in a ruling they still stick with the group. Waiting a month gives a chance to weed out some unwanted elements (if they existed).
PQ3: Do you really mean anything and everything is under the purview of the Council? Are you sure that's a good idea?
PA3: Yeah, the Council is elected by the majority of active players and DMs, so vote wisely with whom you think are best to lead. The only thing not under their control is the voting of the new council.
PQ4: What if you're not elected to the council Bill, are you going to obey their rulings?
PA4: Absolutely. The fact that I started the wiki is irrelevant. I will obey their rulings as any other member is expected to.
PQ5: So when exactly is this Black Marches Council elected?
PA5: The election for the Council is monthly or earlier if needed. If one member quits or goes awol for a week without notice, another interim election can take place to replace members.
