Hello there. I would like to start using the Gunslinger base class presented in Ultimate Combat and the PFSRD and as such use Firearms. What are Black Marches views on Firearms? Do we use the incredibly overpriced Firearms presented? Which era type do we use? No guns? Very Rare guns? Emerging Guns? Commonplace guns? or Guns everywhere?
I would say Emerging guns for Dragonport. The only Firearms I know of in the allowed material are listed here: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/firearms
If we have gunslingers, consider giving them extra grit as that mechanic stinks. The system expects the dm to spoon feed the character grit points for participating, and the player ends up having to beg the dm for candy.
How do you wish to handle the sheer expense of owning a firearm? As it stands it is incredibly expensive for both its ammunition and the gun itself. A single shot from a metal cartidge costs a whopping 15 gold coins while firing a black powder gun costs 11 gold coins per shot (10 gp for black powder and 1 gp for bullet, awfully expensive for a small sphere of very cheap metal).
Heh, it's not my job to handle the expenses of firearms. Now, if you're proposing a houserule, that's a different story.
gunslinger needs a major overhaul imho. It's almost unplayable as written. I hate dm dependent classes.
Feel free to use this gunslinger and firearm rules if you guys like.
