Defensive Fighter

Defensive Fighter

[Fighter Bonus Feat, Combat]

Your nimble fighting style allows you to avoid blows and still retaliate when holding your ground.

Dex 13+, base attack bonus +2

When fighting defensively, you gain the normal +2 dodge bonus to Armor Class but only receive a -2 penalty to all attack rolls. Additionally, you deal an extra 1d6 points of damage with any light weapon or with any weapon to which the Weapon Finesse feat applies (such as a rapier, spiked chain, or whip) when you fight defensively or take a penalty of at least -2 when using Combat Expertise. When your Base Attack Bonus reaches +6, the penalty on attack rolls is reduced to -1, and then when your Base Attack Bonus reaches +11 the penalty on attack rolls for fighting defensively is reduced to -0, completely negating the penalty as your fighting style becomes second nature to you.

A fighter can select Defensive Fighter as one of his fighter bonus feats.

A character receives a -4 penalty to attacks and only a +2 dodge bonus to Armor Class when Fighting Defensively.
