(All skills are class skills for a Chosen of Pewey)
You have visited the Floating Library and learned its secrets. It has select you as one of its chosen. Chosen of Pewey display the abilities of the library founder, Melville Pewey. A Chosen of Pewey commands all magic.
In order to take the Chosen of Pewey prestige class a character must have the following:
- The dragonblooded subtype and speak Draconic
- Inspiration, Cunning Surge
- Sociable Librarian feat
- Must Possess 10 HD
Dragon Mind: For each level that you take in this class you gain a number of spells per day, spell level, and an increase in caster level as if you had also gained a level in Factotum (see Arcane Dilettante). You also advance the Cunning Knowledge and Lore/Bardic Knowledge class features as if you had gained a level in a class with those features.
Inspiration Pool (ex): You gain extra inspiration points according to the table.
Master Dilettante (ex): You may select spells for use with Arcane Dilettante off of any spell list from any class or prestige class in approved books. You may have multiple copies of spells. You may select all your spells at your maximum spell level.
Extend SLA (su): 4x per day you may double the duration of one of your SLAs. You must choose which SLAs to use this ability on when preparing them, and may only apply it once to any SLA.
Cunning Breach (ex): You gain the Cunning Breach ability. This ability is the same as the Factotum ability of the same name. If you already have Cunning Breach from another source, you may halve the amount of inspiration points needed to activate this ability.
SLA Manipulation (su): At 2nd level, when preparing SLAs, you can break them down into spell slots to create a specified number of lower-level spell slots for conversion into SLAs. (A 0-level spell counts as 1/2 level for this purpose, so a 1st-level spell slot could be broken into two 0-level spell slots.) The sum of the levels of all the new spell slots must equal the level of the original. The number of spell slots you can create in this manner is otherwise unlimited. Spell slots that you break down into multiple lower-level slots remain that way until the next time you regain spells, at which time you can choose to restore your spell slots to normal or break them up again. (this is house-ruled arcane manipulation applied to SLAs)
Persistent SLA (su): At 3rd level, 2x per day you may increase the duration of one of your SLAs with (range: personal) to 24hrs. You must choose which SLAs to use this ability on when preparing them, and may only apply it once to any SLA. This ability stacks with Extend SLA.
Cunning Dodge (ex): At 4th level, you gain the Cunning Dodge ability. This ability is the same as the Factotum ability of the same name. If you already have Cunning Dodge from another source, you gain an extra daily use of this ability.
Dragon Spell Master (ex): At 5th level, you have developed a deep understanding of draconic magic. Whenever a spell gives a numeric bonus for having the dragonblood subtype, double all of those bonuses. You may select dragon only spells for use as SLAs.
Quicken SLA (su) At 6th level, 3x per day you may use up to one SLA as a swift action. You may apply this ability to SLAs when you prepare them, or you may spend 1 inspiration point to apply them spontaneously.
Scintillating Armor (su): At 7th level, your draconic heritages give you the ability to mystically deflect attacks. You can add your Intelligence modifier as a deflection bonus to Armor Class.
Evasion (ex): At 8th level, you gain Evasion (see rogue class feature of same name). If you already have Evasion from another source, you instead gain Improved Evasion.
Improved Cunning Breach (ex): Your targets find it very difficult to avoid your spells. At 9th level, whenever you use the Cunning Breach class feature, your target(s) may not apply evasion, improved evasion, or mettle. If the target has immunity to the spell’s effect, they instead gain a +5 bonus to the save and can always make a save to avoid the effect even if the spell normally doesn’t allow a save. If they make the save, they suffer no ill effect. If they fail the save, they are affected as if they had no immunity. If this doesn't make sense in a given situation, the DM may override this effect.
True Dragon (ex): Upon reaching 10th level, you become a True Dragon. You lose the dragonblood subtype but do not lose any benefits related to that type including this prestige class. All of your SLAs are now treated as Supernatural Abilities instead.
